88 foot Motoryacht
Consulting the shipyard regarding structural design and consulting the in-house engineering team regarding manufacturing, structural and other topics
48 foot Motoryacht
Structural engineering regarding CE compliance
40 foot Motoryacht platform design - actual for sale / searching project partner
In tight cooperation with the initiator, I did the Design , structural engineering and system integration of a complete motorycht platform. The building platform consists of a set of moulds to produce various length from 40 to 46 foot , 3 different deckhouse variants and 2 transom variants for outboard as well as inboard engines
40 foot Motoryacht - Daycruiser variant
6,60m electric motorboat
This modern electric driven boat was new constructed from scratch, including evaluation of the basic design concept with tight cooperation to the shipyard, up to the drawings and calculations needed for CE compliance. Optimization of resistance was of particular interest during the whole design process to maximize the overall performance.
5,95 m ultra-light electric motor boat
For this project, lines for very low weight and low resistance were developed. Later a frame structure and hull from Epoxide based FRP was constructed to reach a ready boat weight of as low as 300 kg.
7,33 m mahogany wooden motor boat
Design was optimized for economical production with high quality plywood. Additional optimization to the framing structure was done, to speed up process of computer aided manufacturing and assembling the parts later at shipyard.
8,9 m sailing yacht
Consulting of the shipyard regarding optimization of building process and CE approval was made. This resulted in an several years lasting cooperation.
7,5 m sailing yacht
Consulting of the shipyard regarding optimization of building process and CE approval was made.
Consulting also revised several small changes, either to fulfil CE requirements, or to optimize building process.
6,5m One-off sailing yacht
For this project, general arrangement, and lines have been prepared. Additional calculations of strength, to fulfil CE requirements have been made. To reduce weight, an Epoxide GRP construction has been chosen. The prototype hull was built from vacuum prefabricated GRP sandwich panels. Intense consulting of the owner has been undertaken according to later intended series production and CE approval.
15,0 m catamaran
This lightweight catamaran was designed as easy to build kit.
The structure was reworked and all calculations made, to meet requirements for European CE approval. The Design drawing have been reworked to a complete CAM file, for the computer aided manufacturing from pre-fabricated Epoxide GRP Plates with. To keep the design, the plates had been outfitted with carbon inserts where needed, to optimize usage of carbon in an economical way.
145m Inland Cruise Vessel
As head of the construction team, coordination between design office and shipyard was the main task. Additional attention was paid on drawing inspection and surveillance on shipyard during building time. Also a feedback between shipyard and design office was built up, to increase production of the following sister ships. Changes which have been made during building process were communicated with DNV/GL surveillance.
Pipe Laying Barge
In cooperation with the owner and outfitting suppliers, the general arrangement and drive concept was designed. Additional have been made stability calculations for approval according to DNV/GL rules.
130m cargo ship with flettner-rotors
Steel construction of various sections was made in a team of several engineers. Quality cross check of different engineering groups have been made to reduce error rate.
148m container-ship
This type of ship was produced in over 100 units. So for each order had to be minor changes in plans or structure. e.g. crane from port to starboard side. When new regulations according ballast water treatment took into account, ballast water management was introduced in ship documentation. Recalculation of damaged and intact stability was made, if on owners request ballast capacity was changed. Calculation of Drive-train and Propeller have been made according to owners request of engine power and speed.
Drawings and calculations for approval at GL / DNV have been made.
Canal cruise ship
to replace the conventional drive by an full electric drive, resistance calculations have been made and appropriate battery, engine size and propeller have been chosen.
